Active, dynamic.

Maximum flexibility, minimal risk of falling.

Age-related changes as well as suffering from a neurological disease can lead to a reduction in balance ability and an increased risk of falling. Active-dynamic training of postural control at the individual challenge point has proven to be particularly effective.

The coro makes it easy to implement a proven exercise program for balance and postural control training, weight shifting, object pick-up, core strengthening and fall prevention.

Questions?

What is the THERA-Trainer coro?

The THERA-Trainer coro is a lightweight dynamic standing frame equipped with the same balance unit as its big brother, the THERA-Trainer balo. It is the perfect balance trainer for more freedom of movement with less support for standing stability but maximum fall prevention. Ideally suited for fall prevention training up to the limit of instability.

How much does a THERA-Trainer coro cost?

Depending on the configuration and required accessories, the costs for a THERA-Trainer coro can vary. We will gladly advise you to find out which configuration you need and make you an individual offer. As an alternative to purchasing, we also offer attractive rental and leasing models for our equipment.

Which configuration of the THERA-Trainer coro is right for me?

This depends very much on the area of application and the patient clientele. Get in touch with us! Our clinical application specialists and product consultants have a lot of experience and can define the right setup with you based on your requirements.

In which settings the THERA-Trainer coro can be used?

The THERA-Trainer coro is especially used in the following settings:

  • Hospitals (Acute & Intensive care)
  • Stroke units
  • Inpatient rehabilitation clinics
  • Outpatient rehabilitation centers
  • MS centers
  • Long term care facilities
  • Elderly care homes
  • Gyms
  • And of course, Home care.

For which clinical conditions and indications is the THERA-Trainer coro suitable?

The THERA-Trainer coro is used by patients with the following clinical conditions and indications:

  • Stroke (apoplexy, hemiplegia, cerebral haemorrhage)
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Paraplegia (paraplegia, tetraplegia)
  • Muscle diseases (muscular dystrophy, muscular atrophy)
  • Craniocerebral injuries
  • Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
  • Apallic syndrome (coma vigil, aphasia)
  • Infantile cerebral palsy
  • Polio syndrome
  • Guillain Barré Syndrome (GBS)
  • Polyneuropathy (e.g. due to canal spinal stenosis)
  • Rheumatism, arthrosis, arthritis
  • Knee and hip TEP
  • and for many other clinical pictures with movement restrictions.

What is the minimum activity level for training with the THERA-Trainer coro?

In order to use the THERA-Trainer coro, patients must at least be able to stand up from the wheelchair into the standing frame, as the coro does not have an lift-up system. The best training results can be achieved when patients are already able to stand with little support, but there is a high risk of falling. Then, by fixing the patient in the frame, exercise can be done in a fall-safe environment.

What are the benefits for patients from exercising with the coro?

THERA-Trainer coro is a device specially designed for balance and pre-gait rehabilitation. It is often used in physiotherapy treatment to improve patients’ balance and stability. Here are some typical therapy goals that are pursued with the THERA-Trainer coro:

Increasing stability: By training on the The THERA-Trainer coro, patients can strengthen their trunk muscles and the muscles in their lower extremities. This helps improve stability and helps increase control over the body during movements.

Improving postural control and balance ability: The THERA-Trainer coro aims to improve patients’ balance. Through specific training on the device, patients can learn to better control their balance and increase their stability. This can help prevent falls and regain confidence in their balance.

Pre-Gait rehabilitation: The The THERA-Trainer coro can also be used to improve patients’ ability to walk. By training on the device, gait patterns can be practiced and coordination of the legs and trunk can be improved. This can be particularly helpful for patients with neurological conditions or after injury.

Fall prevention: An important therapy goal with the The THERA-Trainer coro is fall prevention. By training on the device, patients can learn to better maintain their balance and improve their responsiveness. This can help reduce the risk of falls and increase confidence in one’s balance.

Improving functional mobility: The The THERA-Trainer coro aims to improve patients’ functional mobility. This includes the ability to perform everyday activities safely and independently, such as standing, walking and negotiating obstacles.

It is important to note that therapy goals should be individualised to each patient’s needs and abilities. The exact goals are set in consultation with the treating therapist to ensure targeted and effective rehabilitation.

How does the coro differ from the other THERA-Trainer Standing & Balancing products?

The THERA-Trainer coro is the lightweight brother of the THERA-Trainer balo. Compared to balo, the coro does not have an electric raising system, and the patient is secured in the standing frame by a safety belt, not by a pelotte support. This makes set-up even faster and patients have even more freedom of movement, with less support and stabilisation of the system at the same time. This makes stepping exercises and training in different stepping positions even more possible. The difference to the THERA-Trainer verto on the other hand is the balance function. The verto is a purely static standing frame, without a balance unit.

How is the THERA-Trainer coro different from other standing frames on the market?

The special feature of the THERA-Trainer coro is the patented balance unit. Most standing frames on the market only allow static verticalisation in a rigid standing frame. The THERA-Trainer coro, on the other hand, can move 360 degrees in all directions by shifting weight, thus enabling a targeted movement of the body’s center of gravity above the support surface. Compared to many stepping training devices, the THERA-Trainer coro has the decisive advantage that patients can move in a fall-protected environment.

How THERA-Trainer coro fits into the THERA-Trainer complete solution concept?

The THERA-Trainer coro can be a valuable component of a THERA-Trainer complete solution in many clinical and non-clinical settings and can be excellently combined with other products from the Standing & Balancing line, as well as with products of our Cycling and Gait line. With the THERA-Trainer I have the possibility to train adapted muscles and mobility of legs and arms in case of decreasing strength. I can still do this independently without the support of the electric drive. The device is handy and transportable by rollers, so I can train everywhere in my flat. Am very satisfied and see it as the only way to maintain the arm and leg muscles in the best possible way.
