Questions?

What is the THERA-Trainer verto?

The THERA-Trainer verto is a high quality static standing frame for verticalization of patients who are unable to stand. It can be used in clinical and home care settings to effortlessly mobilize patients into a standing position.

How much does a THERA-Trainer verto cost?

Depending on the configuration and required accessories, the costs for a THERA-Trainer verto can vary. We will gladly advise you to find out which configuration you need and make you an individual offer. For training at home, in some countries, the tigo is reimbursed by health insurance companies. We’re also looking forward to advise you individually on this. As an alternative to purchasing, we also offer attractive rental and leasing models for our equipment.

Which configuration of the THERA-Trainer verto is right for me?

This depends very much on the area of application and the patient clientele. Get in touch with us! Our clinical application specialists and product consultants have a lot of experience and can define the right setup with you based on your requirements.

In which settings the THERA-Trainer verto can be used?

The THERA-Trainer verto is especially used in the following settings:

  • Hospitals (Acute & Intensive care)
  • Stroke units
  • Inpatient rehabilitation clinics
  • Outpatient rehabilitation centers
  • MS centers
  • Long term care facilities
  • Elderly care homes
  • Gyms
  • And of course, Home care.

For which clinical conditions and indications is the THERA-Trainer verto suitable?

The THERA-Trainer verto is used by patients with the following clinical conditions and indications:

  • Stroke (apoplexy, hemiplegia, cerebral haemorrhage)
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Paraplegia (paraplegia, tetraplegia)
  • Muscle diseases (muscular dystrophy, muscular atrophy)
  • Craniocerebral injuries
  • Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
  • Apallic syndrome (coma vigil, aphasia)
  • Infantile cerebral palsy
  • Polio syndrome
  • Guillain Barré Syndrome (GBS)
  • Polyneuropathy (e.g. due to canal spinal stenosis)
  • Rheumatism, arthrosis, arthritis
  • Knee and hip TEP
  • and for many other clinical pictures with movement restrictions.

What is the minimum activity level for training with the THERA-Trainer verto?

Patients must at least be mobilised out of bed. However, they do not have to be able to stand independently. They should be able to sit for prolonged periods without significant circulatory decline. Mobilisation to standing position can be performed without effort with the assistance of an electrical lift-up system. The patient is secured against falls by a belt during the entire standing process. However, an indication for training should always first be determined by the physician or therapist and subsequently accompanied.

What are the benefits for patients from exercising with the verto?

The static standing frame THERA-Trainer verto is commonly used in physical therapy to achieve various therapeutic goals. Some of the therapy goals that can be achieved with the verto include:

Improving verticalisation: THERA-Trainer verto can help individuals who are unable to stand independently. The verto provides a stable and supported environment that allows the patient to bear weight on their lower limbs, thereby promoting bone density, muscle activation, and joint stability.

Enhancing postural control: The THERA-Trainer verto can aid in improving postural control. By placing the individual in an upright position, the verto challenges the body’s postural muscles, prompting them to engage and strengthen. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals with conditions such as cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, or other neuromuscular disorders.

Preventing contractures and muscle tightness: Prolonged immobilization or lack of weight-bearing can lead to muscle contractures and tightness. Using the THERA-Trainer verto can help prevent or minimize these issues by maintaining joint range of motion and stretching muscles while in an upright position.

Enhancing circulation and cardiovascular health: Being in an upright position promotes circulation and cardiovascular health. The THERA-Trainer verto can help improve blood flow, prevent venous stasis, and stimulate the cardiovascular system. This is particularly useful for individuals who are unable to stand or walk independently due to conditions such as spinal cord injuries or paralysis.

Promoting bone health: Standing activities are essential for maintaining bone density and preventing osteoporosis. The THERA-Trainer verto provides a means for individuals with limited mobility to engage in standing exercises, which can help improve bone health and reduce the risk of fractures.

Facilitating functional activities: The THERA-Trainer verto can serve as a transition to functional activities by providing a supported and upright position. This allows individuals to practice tasks such as reaching, grasping, or other upper limb activities while in an upright posture, promoting functional independence.

It’s important to note that therapy goals may vary depending on an individual’s specific condition, functional abilities, and therapeutic objectives. A qualified healthcare professional or physical therapist should evaluate and determine the appropriate therapy goals and interventions for each individual.

How does the verto differ from the other THERA-Trainer Standing & Balancing products?

The THERA-Trainer verto differs from the other standing & balancing devices in that it is a purely static standing frame, which in comparison to the THERA-Trainer balo and THERA-Trainer coro does not have a balance unit for dynamic movement while standing. The verto is particularly suitable for mobilizing severely affected patients to standing position at a very early stage and with little effort.

How is the THERA-Trainer verto different from other standing frames on the market?

The main difference is the high quality of the TEHRA-Trainer verto. The device is designed for daily use in the clinic and at home and can withstand even the lowest conditions and highest loads. There are very many inexpensive standing frames on the market, but they are often not quick and easy to use and, from an economic point of view, do not represent a viable long-term investment.

How THERA-Trainer verto fits into the THERA-Trainer complete solution concept?

The THERA-Trainer verto can be a valuable component of a THERA-Trainer complete solution in many clinical and non-clinical settings and can be excellently combined with other products from the Standing & Balancing line, as well as with products of our Cycling and Gait line. Explore our Professional Focus Areas to get a better understanding of our Complete Solutions for the lower levels of rehabilitation.

We agree on milestones and KPIs together. And we take our time for analysis, planning and implementation. Contact us and let our specialists advise you individually.

Can the THERA-Trainer verto also be used in combination with therapy devices from other manufacturers?

Of course. Naturally, THERA-Trainer products are perfectly matched in terms of their functionality and interoperability. But they can also be used in combination with other existing equipment or equipment from a different manufacturer. Depending on the specific use case, this may even make sense. We have close collaborations with some manufacturers of other products, which allows you to benefit from special offers and bundled deals. Get in Touch with us. We would be happy to provide information on this and share our experience from customer projects.

From the moment I first started using a wheelchair, the THERA-Trainer has been a constant training device. I first encountered it in the hospital. I then had it prescribed so that I could train at home. In particular I use the cranks for my upper body and arms, so that I can actively maintain and build up my remaining muscles. I try to train with the tigo several times a week.

Thanks to the possibility of computer technology, training can now be very specific. Patients receive immediate feedback on the execution of movements and are motivated to improve their own physical condition through active training.
