The new age.

Successful robotic assisted therapy concept.

Particularly in the first three months of inpatient rehabilitation, patients are more likely to regain independent walking if they receive intensive and repetitive strength, endurance, posture and gait training. THERA-Trainer offers not only the latest technology for cycling, standing & balancing and gait therapy, but also an evidence-based treatment concept that ensures a therapeutically and economically efficient use of the robotics.

“Evidence-based research shows that neurological and geriatric patients are making major strides, faster, when advanced robotics are integrated into rehabilitation.”

Our staff have all jumped in to have a try and the wide range
of flexibility of levels of assistance/resistance means each individual can be challenged to an
appropriate level making our team feel muscles they had forgotten they had!

I like it for patients who can’t walk long distances. It gives an opportunity for them to complete a continuous activity with resistance at a quick pace. The feedback at the end of the activity stating which side is working more allows discussion with the patient on what strengthening is still needed. The patients really like it.

There are several programmes available that introduce an element of fun into the exercise with visual stimulation. These programs are designed to use both cognitive and physical ability. At the end of the session we are able to see the level of activity, the watts of power produced and distance travelled.

Attached to the top of the Thera Traineri s a screen. which
displays how much strength each leg (or arm) is exerting. This allows you to take a bit more control over what your body and brain is doing, as you can start to tell the necessary bits of the brain
what to do.

I like very much that the patients are able to wheel right up in their wheelchairs and be secured by the straps on the bottom the foot plates work very well to hold the patient’s foot down where it needs to be.
