Walk this way.

Gait training beyond the level of traditional therapy.

Who wants to learn to walk – needs to walk. This is where traditional gait therapy reaches its limits: The methods are physically demanding, time-consuming and inefficient. The benefits of robotic gait training are obvious.

According to the latest research, training with the endeffector gait trainer can prevent one in eight walking impairments.

Simple, effective, affordable.

The most affordable robotic gait trainer on the market

Easy handling and fast patient transfer make the lyra the perfect workhorse for gait therapy. Consequently many therapy sessions per day can be done with just 1 therapist needed to run the lyra. The absolute focus on what you really need means we can offer our gait robotic system lyra at a comparatively low cost.

Physiological.

Only a natural walking movement will stimulate the patients’ muscle memory, thereby giving them an excellent chance of learning to walk again. The THERA-Trainer lyra creates the human gait pattern with the help of patented technology that can be adapted to each patient within seconds.

Questions?

What is the THERA-Trainer lyra?

The THERA-Trainer lyra is a static electromechanical gait trainer that works according to the end-effect principle. This means that two motor-driven flow plates simulate the natural walking pattern and thus enable high-intensity, repetitive gait training for neurological and geriatric patients.

How much does a THERA-Trainer lyra cost?

There are different investment models for the THERA-Trainer lyra. The price also varies depending on the equipment and accessories. We will gladly advise you to find out which configuration you need and make you an individual offer. As an alternative to purchasing, we also offer attractive rental and leasing models for our equipment.

Which configuration of the THERA-Trainer lyra is right for me?

This depends very much on the area of application and the patient clientele. Get in touch with us! Our clinical application specialists and product consultants have a lot of experience and can define the right setup with you based on your requirements.

In which settings the THERA-Trainer lyra can be used?

The THERA-Trainer lyra is especially used in the following settings:

  • Hospitals
  • Stroke units
  • Inpatient rehabilitation clinics
  • Outpatient rehabilitation centers
  • MS centers
  • Long term care facilities
  • Elderly care homes

The THERA-Trainer tigo is used by patients with the following clinical conditions and indications:

  • Stroke (apoplexy, hemiplegia, cerebral haemorrhage)
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Paraplegia (paraplegia, tetraplegia)

  • and for many other clinical pictures with movement restrictions.

What is the minimum activity level for training with the THERA-Trainer lyra?

Patients must at least be able to mobilise out of bed. However, they do not have to be able to stand or walk independently. But they need to be able to sit and rest in supported standing for prolonged periods without significant circulatory decline. The patient is secured against falls by a belt during the entire treatment process. However, an indication for training should always first be determined by the physician or therapist and subsequently accompanied.

What are the benefits for patients from exercising with the lyra?

There are several benefits associated with THERA-Trainer lyra electromechanical gait training:

Enhanced motor recovery: Gait training with the THERA-Trainer lyra can help individuals relearn and improve their walking ability following neurological conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injury, or brain injury. The repetitive, task-specific movements facilitated by these devices can stimulate neuroplasticity and promote motor recovery.

Improved gait pattern and coordination: THERA-Trainer lyra can assist in correcting abnormal gait patterns and promoting more efficient and coordinated walking. The gait trainer provides support, stability, and guidance during the walking process, helping individuals regain a more natural gait.

Increased walking speed and endurance: Gait training with the THERA-Trainer lyra can help individuals gradually increase their walking speed and endurance over time. By providing controlled support and reducing the effort required for walking, the device allows for longer training sessions and the ability to challenge and improve cardiovascular fitness.

Reduced risk of falls: By providing support and stability, electromechanical gait training with lyra can reduce the risk of falls during gait training sessions. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with balance impairments or those who are at a higher risk of falls due to their condition.

Customizable assistance: THERA-Trainer lyra offers adjustable levels of assistance, allowing therapists to tailor the amount of support provided to each individual’s specific needs. This adaptability enables a progressive training program, gradually reducing the assistance as the person’s walking ability improves.

Increased motivation and engagement: THERA-Trainer lyra incorporates interactive features and feedback mechanisms, making the training sessions more engaging and motivating. This can help individuals stay focused, committed, and motivated throughout their rehabilitation process.

It is important to note that the specific benefits of electromechanical gait training may vary depending on the individual’s condition, the device used, and the guidance of a trained healthcare professional. Each person’s rehabilitation program should be tailored to their specific needs and goals.

How is the THERA-Trainer lyra different from other gait trainers on the market?

THERA-Trainer lyra is simple, effective and affordable. The gait trainer has been developed in such a way that all features are geared towards quick setup and maximum usability. Complex additional features, which cost a lot of money and usually offer little added value, have been deliberately omitted. Patients who depend on an electromechanical gait trainer only have one goal: to be able to walk again. And that is exactly what lyra optimally supports patients and therapists to do.

As a powered wheelchair user, the tigo helps me to move both my arms and legs and improve my strength and fitness. When I use it, I can feel my heart rate being raised and I am hoping that it will allow me to regain some of the mobility I have recently lost. The number of adjustments mean that people with many different levels of ability can use a THERA-Trainer. This is adaptive and accessible fitness for all the family!

From the moment I first started using a wheelchair, the THERA-Trainer has been a constant training device. I first encountered it in the hospital. I then had it prescribed so that I could train at home. In particular I use the cranks for my upper body and arms, so that I can actively maintain and build up my remaining muscles. I try to train with the tigo several times a week.
