Wake up and move.

An award-winning system for early mobilization.

Latest research recommends early mobilization from day one, but due to a lack of time and staff, therapy is often not possible, too late, or insufficient.

The bemo ensures that patients are able to gain movement efficiently whilst still bed-bound. Training can be active with muscle power, assisted or passive with motor support.

In-bed cycling with bemo improves strength, cardiovascular fitness and blood circulation – aiming to enhance recovery outcomes and reduce the length of stay in ICU and hospital.

“Early mobilization is essential in intensive care and rehab. In-bed cycling supports neuromuscular recovery, reduces muscle loss, improves circulation and mobility – including longer walking distances and higher chances of regaining independence.”

Questions?

What is the THERA-Trainer bemo?

The THERA-Trainer bemo is a motor-driven movement trainer, suitable for active, assistive and passive training for the relief/treatment of mild to severe impairments of the movement-related functions. Patients can train both, legs or upper body. The THERA-Trainer bemo is a special cycling product designed to allow patients to exercise whilst lying down. This makes the device particularly suitable for use in the area of early mobilization, e.g. in intensive care units or in dialysis, where patients are unable to move for long periods of time.

How much does a THERA-Trainer bemo cost?

Depending on the configuration and required accessories, the costs for a THERA-Trainer bemo can vary. We will gladly advise you to find out which configuration you need and make you an individual offer. As an alternative to purchasing, we also offer attractive rental and leasing models for our equipment.

Which configuration of the THERA-Trainer bemo is right for me?

This depends very much on the area of application and the patient conditions. Get in touch with us! Our clinical application specialists and product consultants have a lot of experience and can define the right setup with you based on your requirements.

What is the minimum activity level for training with the THERA-Trainer bemo?

The THERA-Trainer bemo can be used for severely affected patients e.g. in acute or intensive care who cannot yet be mobilised out of bed. However, an indication for training should always first be determined by the physician or therapist.

What therapy goals are usually pursued with the THERA-Trainer bemo?

The therapy goals that are usually pursued with the THERA-Trainer bemo can vary depending on the individual needs and abilities of the patient. However, here are some typical therapy goals that are targeted with the THERA-Trainer bemo:

Improving mobility: The THERA-Trainer bemo can be used to improve patients’ ability to move. This includes strengthening muscles, improving joint mobility, and promoting coordination and balance.

Restoring motor function: Following a stroke, spinal cord injury or other neurological conditions, THERA-Trainer bemo can be used to restore motor skills. This may include the ability to perform certain movements, such as reaching for objects or walking.

Increasing endurance: The THERA-Trainer bemo can be used to improve patients’ cardiovascular fitness and endurance. Targeted training on the device can improve physical performance and increase resilience.

Increasing strength: The THERA-Trainer bemo can also be used for resistance training to improve patients’ muscle strength.

Regulation of muscle tone and pain management:The THERA-Trainer bemo can be used to provide exercise therapy that can help to relieve spasticity and pain. Controlled movements and targeted training can relax muscles and reduce pain.

Promoting independence in everyday life: An important therapy goal with the THERA-Trainer bemo is to promote independence and autonomy in everyday life. This can include improving the ability to get around independently, perform daily activities such as getting dressed or cooking, and improving overall quality of life.

However, it is important to note that therapy goals are tailored to the individual patient and should be determined in consultation with their therapist.

How does the bemo differ from the other THERA-Trainer Cycling products?

THERA-Trainer bemo is special because it is designed for training in a recumbent or semi-recumbent position. This is essentially the difference from the other THERA-Trainer Cycling products, such as the THERA-Trainer toro, tigo or mobi, which are exclusively designed for training in a sitting position.

How is the THERA-Trainer bemo different from other Cycling products on the market?

The special feature of the THERA-Trainer bemo, compared to other bed bikes, is the unique portal system. It allows the trainer to be wheeled over the bed or a couch in a particularly easy and space-saving way. In addition, the control is completely electronic. This saves time and energy. An important feature of the bemo is its various built-in safety functions, such as optical sensors and emergency stops, which make training safe, especially in sensitive areas such as intensive care units or dialysis. Because of its closed surfaces, the bemo is also very easy to clean and desinfect.

How does the THERA-Trainer bemo fit into the THERA-Trainer complete solution concept?

The THERA-Trainer bemo can be a valuable component of a THERA-Trainer complete solution in many clinical and non-clinical settings and can be excellently combined with other products from the Cycling line, as well as with products of our Standing & Balancing and Gait lines. Explore our Professional Focus Areas to get a better understanding of our Complete Solutions for the lower levels of rehabilitation.
