A study confirms: Progressive strength training significantly boosts balance, walking ability, and quality of life in akinetic-rigid Parkinson’s patients. Learn how an 8-week training program made the difference.
The training results and progress were determined by the researchers during the course. The effects of the training were determined using standardised test procedures and questionnaires. Testing and measurements were taken at the beginning of the intervention, at the end, and at the follow-up four weeks after the end of the training.
The results show that progressive muscle training in akinetic-rigid Parkinson’s patients has a positive effect on balance and walking ability and leads to improved quality of life in those affected.
